Mehmooda is the founder of MDS and has more than 30 years of medical negligence experience. Mehmooda spent the first 10 years of her medical negligence career defending the NHS and GPs and over the last 20 years has built up the team and firm’s CES specialism. The MDS team has grown and boasts several CES specialists including Navdeep Kainth, Gemma Lewis and Sarah Grogan.
Mehmooda has worked with the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and the Regional Spinal Network in the Northwest on their SOP (Standard Operating Procedures ) for CES.
Mehmooda’s invaluable and extensive knowledge of how claims are defended is unique. There are very few lawyers in the country who have worked for both the NHS and for patients. Mehmooda was head of the Legal Department at a large hospital Trust and also represented GPs covered by the Medical Defence Union.

Gemma’s extensive experience in Cauda Equina Syndrome cases has seen her succeed in some very complex cases. Sarah is a Legal Director at MDS. She has over 30 years of experience in personal injury and medical negligence claims.
