I had my surgery in 2009 and struggled with the unknown. Once I found the CES facebook, I realised I wasn’t alone. That in itself helped me massively. The first few year were a blur but I found a great physio and did a pain management course through the NHS for 8 weeks. This helped me to move forward. I still have rough times and the unknown is scary but having support is what gets me through. My husband, family and even my dog all help make the bad days seem manageable.
Sometimes it’s just comforting to have someone there that knows what you are going through and can relate. Hence why I wanted to do the coffee mornings as it brought us together to support and listen to one another. Everyone is different and we will all have a different story but if it just helps in a small way then it is all worth it.
